Huntington, Indiana – After the House voted on the Indiana Constitution Property Tax Cap Amendment on Monday, January 11 2010, a vote that passed by a margin of 75-23, the Indiana State Republican Party issued a press release criticizing Democrat Trent Van Haaften’s No vote. What the State Republican Party failed to do was bring attention to Republican Dan Leonard’s same No vote. To highlight the hypocrisy of the State Republican Party’s attempt to minimize Rep. Leonard’s vote and to “protect their own”, Ron Fusselman issued a statement using the identical language used in the party’s press release. Ron Fusselman replaced his name for the Republican candidate and Rep. Dan Leonard’s name for the Democrat.
