On Tuesday April 13, Republican candidate for Indiana House District 50, Ron Fusselman, earned the endorsement of the Independence Caucus. The Independence Caucus is a National Citizens Organization dedicated to limited government, fiscal responsibility, adherence to constitutional authority and representation of the people to Washington; not Washington to the people. You can find out more about the Independence Caucus at icaucus.org.
"I am pleased to have the endorsement of the Independence Caucus. For to long, money and not the power of the people, have had the upper hand in politics, that is about to end. With grass root groups like iCaucus, politics as usual is on its way out," said Fusselman.

Huntington, Indiana – After the House voted on the Indiana Constitution Property Tax Cap Amendment on Monday, January 11 2010, a vote that passed by a margin of 75-23, the Indiana State Republican Party issued a press release criticizing Democrat Trent Van Haaften’s No vote. What the State Republican Party failed to do was bring attention to Republican Dan Leonard’s same No vote. To highlight the hypocrisy of the State Republican Party’s attempt to minimize Rep. Leonard’s vote and to “protect their own”, Ron Fusselman issued a statement using the identical language used in the party’s press release. Ron Fusselman replaced his name for the Republican candidate and Rep. Dan Leonard’s name for the Democrat. Expecting a response, although not from another State Representative, Matt Bell obliged as seen below:

Huntington, Indiana - Republican state representative candidate Ron Fusselman took issue with Republican Dan Leonard’s vote against property tax cap legislation on Monday, and questioned why he is opposed to putting the issue before a referendum in November.
"Protecting taxpayers is fundamental to strong, representative leadership. It is disturbing to hear that Rep. Dan Leonard voted against providing this basic protection," said Fusselman. "What concerns me the most is that this action indicates that he is not interested in hearing taxpayers’ opinions on the property tax cap legislation; otherwise, he would have allowed the issue to be put before a referendum. Once again, Rep. Leonard has put special interest groups and his personal interests above the voter's interests.”
Fusselman also noted the potential positive effect the tax caps could have on economic development.
"By permanently capping property taxes, we position Indiana to attract new homeowners, and ultimately new businesses," Fusselman said. "Seeing protection from excessive taxing could be the deciding factor for numerous individuals and companies looking to relocate to Northeasten Indiana. At the end of the day, property tax caps help position us as a viable, attractive community for more families and growing businesses, and that’s what our community needs."

1. What place does the recognition of God have in the governance of our Nation?
Response: God is the foundation of our government. God first. People second. Government third.
2. Do you agree the Constitution is a “living document”, that is subject to change with the times, and if not, what does it mean to you as a public servant to defend the Constitution?
Response: No. It is not a “living document.” It was a document that was thoroughly thought out, carefully designed, and meticulously written as the framework to build our Nation. As a public servant, it is my duty to protect these laws and rights for all Americans. It is time to elect people that are not looking for personal gains, but for the well-being of all citizens.

In a move that recognizes his opponent's, Jim Banks, true conservative values, Ron Fusselman today announced he will be withdrawing from the Indiana State Senate District 17 race and turning his attention to challenging State Representative Dan Leonard for the District 50 State Representative seat.
"I started this journey to become your State Senator with the hopes and aspirations of bringing true conservative change to the General Assembly. Over time, I have come to recognize that the race to replace Senator Dillon has two true grass roots, conservative candidates. Therefore, my talents and resources could be more effectively put to use challenging a State Representative in Dan Leonard that does not hold the same conservative values and is beholden to special interest groups,” Fusselman said.
"So today, I am announcing I will be amending my campaign to reflect my withdrawal from the State Senate race and focus on challenging State Representative Dan Leonard for the Republican nomination for State Representative, District 50. I will also be supporting Jim Banks to replace Senator Gary "Doc" Dillon as your next State Senator," Fusselman added.
"I welcome Ron's decision and wish him luck in his future political endeavors,' Banks said of Fusselman's decision.
